Celebrating The Vocational Training Center

Isaiah 43:18-19

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Celebrating The Vocational Training Center
Ngombe Compound, Lusaka Zambia

We just received two incredible photos of our beautiful Vocational Training Center in Ngombe Compound and wanted to share them with our community. For those who are new to the team – here’s a quick overview of the project.

From January 2019 to the summer of 2021 our new sewing and vocational training center building in Ngombe Compound went from concept to completion. The team began using the building a few months ago without much fanfare. They are thrilled with the new space.

Special Thanks: We are incredibly grateful for the donor contributions as well as the hard work and dedication of our local team in Lusaka. Together, we’ve created an amazing new space that serves as a home to the Sew Powerful Sewing team as well as a vocational training center for the community.

Watch The Entire Video Journey

Documenting this project in over a dozen videos has been inspiring. Here's the first video we shot.

The building is filled with the voices of busy team members these days – happily working in a beautiful, clean, and well designed space. We currently have 50 seamstresses and we hope to add 10 new trainees the fall of 2021.

Join Us: Our work is made possible by the generosity of individual donors who decide to invest in our work with financial support. Each gift we receive helps us sustain and expand the program, so we can offer more and better jobs to moms and serve more local children with our programs. We'd love your support with a gift of any amount and a monthly recurring donation is a huge blessing. Give now on our donate page.

You can still give a financial gift on our building update page.
