During the show, Jason and Cinnamon thank Sew Powerful purse makers by name while showcasing purses on the PurseCam. Hear breaking news, get program updates, ask questions, and sometimes, even win a prize. Also available by replay the following day on the Sew Powerful YouTube channel. March 15 (Saturday) | Last Day to Enroll in the 3rd Annual Sewing Retreat, Stitchin’ Heaven, Quitman, TX. The objective of the August 1-4 retreat is to participate in making projects specific to Sew Powerful, while also expanding participants’ knowledge of Sew Powerful. Planned activities include sewing purses, learning new techniques, spending time in the Word, building new friendships, and having fun talking and laughing together. Come meet co-founders Jason and Cinnamon Miles, Zambia Program Director Esther M’Kandewire and hear their vision for Sew Powerful. Enrollment requires a deposit of $275 or payment in full of $450. April 4 – 14 (Friday – Monday) | Lusaka Leadership Retreat. Sew Powerful leaders will travel to Lusaka, Zambia to take part in a Leadership Training Retreat designed to give 25 School Principals exposure to experiences and materials designed to advance their skills in school leadership and management.

April 30 (Wednesday) | Quarterly Chapter Leaders Meeting, via Zoom. Time: 3:00 PM Pacific/6:00 PM Eastern. Both veteran and new Chapter Leaders are encouraged to attend our Quarterly meeting. It will be a time of sharing and learning from each other. Bring your tips, questions, and enthusiasm. The meetings are fun, informal get-togethers with others who share your interests and desire to optimize the Chapter experience for yourself and your members. July 15 (Tuesday) | Sew-A-Thon Campaign Site Open for Participant Enrollment. Enrolled Sew-A-Thon Participants raise funds for Sew Powerful by connecting with family and friends. Your loved ones make donations to Sew Powerful in your honor to qualify you for prize eligibility. The Sew-A-Thon is the single largest contributor to the Sew Powerful budget and covers a significant portion of the cost of wages and materials needed to operate the Purse Program. The Sew-A-Thon has a goal of raising $200,000 of the $350,00 needed to help 35,000 girls attend school.

Merch for sale in the booth will be provided by Sew Powerful. Quilt Shows are a great way to tell the Sew Powerful story to quilters looking to use their stash for a good cause. September 1 – September 30 (Monday - Tuesday) | Sew-A-Thon 2025 Purse Making. Annual Sew Powerful celebration of National Sewing Month asks our enrolled Sew-A-Thon participants to challenge themselves to make as many Sew Powerful purses as they can during September. Each purse helps a girl in Zambia stay in school because the purse is filled with feminine hygiene supplies, soap, and underwear. While Sew Powerful purse makers sew purses all year long, September is a month we all sew with extra zeal to support the Sew-A-Thon. Awards and special recognitions for top purse makers. Purse makers who also raise $100 or more in the fundraising portion of the Sew-A-Thon, qualify for the prize drawing in October.

September 30 (Tuesday) | Last Day for Sew-A-Thon Donations to be Credited to Participants. Last day for enrolled Sew-A-Thon Participants to raise Sew-A-Thon funds for Sew Powerful and have those funds counted toward the prize drawings, with more funds raised proving more chance to win prizes. Friends and family can continue to donate to Sew Powerful but their donations will not contribute to participants’ totals. Details provided at the time of enrollment.

October 3 - 13 (Friday-Monday) | Fall Donor Trip to Zambia. Enrolled participants will join Jason and Cinnamon Miles as they lead the group on the trip of a lifetime to Zambia Africa. Meet the seamstresses, participate in purse distributions, walk through the backyard gardens, explore the 3 Esthers Farm, travel in-country to Livingstone to meet our team, experience Victoria Falls, and spend a half-day on a drive-through Safari. October 9-12 (Thursday - Sunday) | Houston Quilt Festival, Houston, TX. Held earlier than in the past, the HQF is one of the nation’s largest and oldest Quilt Shows, marking its 50^thanniversary this year. Be sure to visit the Sew Powerful booth for your chance to see spectacular purses on display and to support Sew Powerful by buying donated merch sold at deep discounts. October 15 (Wednesday) | Sew-A-Thon Final Results. Join the Sew Powerful Live event on Facebook or YouTube to hear the final results of the 2025 Sew-A-Thon. Learn how many purses were made and total funds raised. Stay tuned for the live awarding of the prizes.
