September 1 – September 30 (Sunday - Monday) | 2024 Sew-A-Thon Purse Making. The 3rd Annual Internation Sew Powerful Sew-A-Thon celebrates National Sewing Month by asking our enrolled Sew-A-Thon participants to challenge themselves to make as many Sew Powerful purses as they can during September. Each purse helps a girl in Zambia stay in school because the purse is filled with feminine hygiene supplies, soap, and underwear. While Sew Powerful purse makers sew purses all year long, September is a month we all sew with extra zeal to support the Sew-A-Thon. In the 2023 Sew-A-Thon over 4300 purses were made. Can we exceed that number this year? Purse makers who also raise $100 or more in the fundraising portion of the Sew-A-Thon, qualify for the prize drawing in October.

September 14 (Saturday) | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Sew Powerful Purse Sew Day, Hunters Quilt Mart, 573 NW US Hwy 50, Centerview, MO. This in-person event is sponsored by the Hunters Humble Hands are Sew Powerful Chapter. The organizers will provide fabric and interfacing; participants should bring their sewing machine, 2 wound bobbins, small iron, scissors, pins or clips. Registration required HERE.

September 30 (Monday) | Final Day for Sew-A-Thon 2024 Donations. Final day for enrolled Sew-A-Thon Participants to receive credit for donations made in their honor to qualify for the October 7th prize drawings. If submitting checks by mail, please make sure they arrive by this cut-off date. The Participant Guide has full mailing instructions.

October 3 (Thursday) | Final Day to Report Sew-A-Thon Purse Making Results. Enrolled participants, including those who are members of Sew Powerful Chapters and those who live outside the United States, should report their individual final count of the purses they sewed during the month of September. October 7 (Monday) | Sew-A-Thon Final Results. Join the Sew Powerful Live event on Facebook or YouTube to hear the final results of the 2024 Sew-A-Thon. Learn how many purses were made and total funds raised. Stay tuned for the live awarding of the prizes.

October 30 (Wednesday) | Quarterly Chapter Leaders Meeting, via Zoom. Time: 3:00 PM Pacific/6:00 PM Eastern. Both veteran and new Chapter Leaders are encouraged to attend our Quarterly meeting. It will be a time of sharing and learning from each other. Bring your tips, questions, and enthusiasm. The meetings are fun, informal get-togethers with others who share your interests and desire to optimize the Chapter experience for yourself and your members.
